  I came upon Dr. Bell when I was about 21 (I am now 32). I had moved to the Corinth area to be closer to my mom and Dr. Bell's office was right in town. I figured he would be like any other doctor and was quite irritated when I would wait for what seemed like ever to get in to see him. I guess this is when I learned that as in life, patience in a virtue because for the amount of time I waited, he spent that amount of time with me as well. He was interested in ever aspect of my background and genetics. It kept me coming back to him for years. It didn't matter what insurance company I had or how far I moved, I kept going to Dr. Bell. He has never treated me in a condescending manner and in fact talked to me like a colleague rather than a patient. Never thinking I wouldn't be able to grasp the medical terminology or trying to make me feel dumb. The time you spend in the waiting room is worth every minute for the time you will get from him in return. He cares, he explains, he takes him time to fill in your records with family history, background, health issues. He eases any fears you may have with an upbeat, we're going to kick a** attitude! He's open to discussion on treatment options and he will tell you like it is! He looked at my neck one day and said he would like to check my thyroid, we had been through this many times before and so I obliged. He said it felt swollen. He said as a precaution he was going to send me for an ultrasound of my neck. After the ultrasound it was discovered that I had nodules in my thyroid. I then needed biopsies. They were looking for cancer! I remember like yesterday getting the call from his office and his staff telling me that he wanted to see me right away. When I went in Dr. Bell came in and said to me,"We are going to take it out and you are going to live a long, happy life." I will never forget that. I said,"Did you just tell me I have cancer?" With a smile he said," We're going to take it out and you are going to be fine." I didn't have time to cry or be depressed, his attitude was alarmingly upbeat and it allowed me not to fear. He sat and explained the whole situation to me, He also explained that he had me urgently come in because he wanted to give the diagnosis in person, he was going on vacation for a couple of weeks and he didn't want anyone else to do it. I will respect him forever for that. Dr. Bell saved my life! Even my endocrinologist who I met later said they would have seen the nodules and never thought twice about it. Took the wait and watch road. She said they were so small that she would have never thought to biopsy them. Dr. Bell's gut told him that it needed to be done. I am forever grateful to that man. I see some of the other reviews, if you think he talks a lot or about himself a lot, one, he knows what he is talking about so listen to him and two, he tries to relate to you so you don't feel so alone in your diagnosis. He is a caring doctor, great bedside manner and I will be forever thankful that our paths crossed and he saved me from what could have been a worse outcome. My 3 beautiful children thank him too. I am going on 4 years cancer free! Thanks Doctor Bell your aces, top of the line in my book!
